"Northern Neck”, the popular name for this peninsula is surrounded by rivers and the Chesapeake Bay and naturally offers the best in fishing, water sports, and hunting in the fall.

White Stone is situated in Lancaster County at the southeastern tip of the historic Northern Neck.  Access to White Stone is possible from the South via the Norris Bridge which spans the Rappahannock River or from the North via Virginia Hwy. 3 which intersects with Interstate 95 at Fredericksburg.

Guests planning to fly into the Northern Neck may use Richmond, Norfolk, Patrick Henry, or Washington, D.C. airports.  Auto rental agencies are located at airports.

The major industries in the Northern Neck are agriculture and commercial fishing. Consequently, the air and water are virtually free of pollution.

Several historic landmarks are located within few miles drive of Whispering Pines such as Historic Christ Church, Mary Ball Washington Memorial Museum and St. Mary’s Whitechapel.  The Lancaster County Court House, located in the town of Lancaster, houses complete records of Colonial documents dating backing to 1652.

For many years Whispering Pines has been a popular overnight stop for visitors embarking on the Tangier Island Cruise and Smith Island, Maryland Cruise.  These tour cruises operate from May to September.

For the golfing enthusiast an 18-hole public course is located 2 miles from the motel.

Short distances away you will find very good restaurants serving all types of native food.

For a real enjoyable, relaxing weekend or vacation, visit the “Northern Neck” of Virginia.
